This MOLE was awaken by one of his GULL friends, who had noticed over the last few weeks more poor parking and pavement obstructing on one of our busiest roads, London Road. This mole was amazed to witness two Police cars pass this gaggle of vans, one of which had to stop for oncoming traffic........PS the houses that are being worked on back on to a Lane with space to park legally....so why not park there?

This MOLE had a quick trip out the other day and heard a whisper, yep it seems our good friend from Parcel Force is still up to his old tricks. The top picture gave his MOLE a fright, yep your eyes don't deceive you, he is parked on the left hand site of the road pointing the wrong way...... and yes directly in the exit from the roundabout (inset approx location, this MOLE was not going to get too close).....I thought us MOLES could be a little unstable, but this parking takes the proverbial biscuit. "If you were a little late landing on the 24th September 2007 it might be because the Isle of Inishmore wanted to have a nice close look at the old railway pier and check out the site of the new marina to see if they could clean the windows on the apartments from the ship....aground maybe...lets say the house was vibrating from the power being applied to get her to go backwards and the water foamed...this is a current record for us here....very close shave......I can report after about 15 minutes of frantic full reverse power she slipped onto the ferry terminal"

This MOLE was just having a rest and there on the ground was a newspaper Headline.....High Levels or Security in Place at all Ports , Railway Stations, Airports because of terrorist threats etc.......Well looking up this MOLE was pleased to see this in action as Two Lorries and a van were allowed to drive straight through the Pembroke Dock Dock Yard Gate the security person seemed not to get off his chair....So when things get back to normal...they won't need to have this high level of SECURITY...maybe he/she will get a bed....................

Well here we go again.....our elders and betters...(Well !!!) leading by example......Us MOLES are known to have poor eyesight....which means we don't drive big smelly cars and vans. But this MOLE was surprised to see these pictures on the Pembroke Dock Community Web Site.....Here we are with a big empty parking bay....It would seem not good enough for the nice white motor, Maybe they have to park on double yellow lines to be conspicuous ?.... it works ... We can also report well within a couple of MOLE lengths of a junction....well done.....

I know you lot hate us MOLES if we pop up in your grass and flower beds...so why do you have to use very large lorries to try and flatten us when we find a nice grassy patch beside the road........just on the "S" bend in Front Street we MOLES used to be safe, we were protected by 3 nice posts to stop inconsiderate drivers using the path and the grass to get round the corner....although we can't see why them great big articulated trucks need to use such a sweet little street....So PLEASE can we have are posts back. It might save cash on road repairs to boot

Us MOLES are not known as defenders of your human heritage, but this MOLE has been getting concerned as to the proliferation of signs covering the Old Railway Gate into the Dockyard.....if this growth carries on will the whole of the wall become a graded and listed advertising hording.....come on Port Authority follow the rules and support the dock and take down the unsightly and apparently TEMPORARY signs and let the nice people of Pembroke Dock and their visitors see the gate in all its glory

Toe...ing the Line

This MOLE has no problem keeping to the right site of the tunnel....but having been awakened from a well deserved kip by the sound of squealing brakes....this old MOLE just saw a car and a dirty great lorry trying to use the same bit of the road...I must add the car driver was in the right stopped in the filter lane.......you can guess the rest....no damage and the only injury was to this MOLES nerves...so we decided to watch for 15 Min's and shall we say it could of been a recurring nightmare.....so try staying on your own side of the white line and you could save more than the nervous stress to this MOLE

Here at the Web project we have received a whisper that a small group of local entrepreneurs have been given a green light after receiving confirmation from the current owners of the sale and unconditional consent to convert the building in the Old Royal Dock Yard rumoured to be the Old Dockyard Chapel. The refurbished building visited by the Prince of Wales last year will be converted into a Lap Dance and Casino Nightspot. Our spy tells us planning is well in hand. A quote from an unconfirmed possible partner in the scheme said " we believe we can now go ahead with the scheme due to the recent gambling regulation changes agreed by the UK Government and other local administrations" and went on to say "all the right people are shall we say a safe bet". The club is due to open its doors to the public on 1st April 2008 for its first season, Keep checking back for the latest on this exciting project

Burrowing on the Burrows

I must say thought on my first burrow around the Town I was shocked by all the bin bags and rubbish....it would seem its not just us MOLES that have poor eyesight, it would seem you humans can't read. The notice regarding when your rubbish is being collected seems straight forward to us....so off to the opticians you lot........

British Home Stores....In Pembroke Dock?

Well this MOLE had a fun day the other day Up we popped in the earth work on the exciting extension at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel...so like all inquisitive MOLES I had a quick look round...and what a smart place it looks all spic and span....a bucket full of cash has been buried into the hotel......and its great.......BUT you would think they could buy a coat stand....not just borrow one from British Home Stores. This mole is sorry for the poor picture quality....you have to hurry when you are a MOLE in a smart place like this

Well as you all know us MOLES have very poor eyesight, so its always great when you human types make things easy for all us visually impaired lot.......... in this case we are pleased that the nice button covered pavement patches have been placed where we can cross the roads. But not all of you get it right as you can see............ This MOLE felt his/her way across the road at this crossing and BANG one flat nosed MOLE. What part of the human anatomy would this post reach?........... yep you guessed it some plonker has placed a dirty great post right in line with the nice council supplied crossing place............... well done....well you should be!

Sign of the Times

Well I never....IM back been away for a holiday...Us MOLES need a break sometimes...While I was away I was discussing with old collage chums some of the odd things our fellow mole students used to do in the good old days....drink, smoke , party and nick the odd cone, policemans helmet or something for the wall at the students union.......So as an observant MOLE I was not surprised to much to find this sort of thing still goes on. This warning sign on a fence in the town seems to have been borrowed...... by guess who.......well we would't like then to damage there nice motors....or knock down the fence....

Mine Hunter "Bombs"

This story tried to stay underground...But the MOLE unearthed it........ Don't tell anyone thought the secret service will skin me...Alive.... A few of weeks ago it seems the crew of HMS Atherstone made the headlines in Liverpool for finding a bomb........ Then she sailed off in all her glory to the next job here in the Haven.......So what you ask.......Well the MOLE can report that the higher you climb the further it is to fall......In this case HMS Atherstone was on her way to park beside the very smartly painted and presented RFA Sir Galahad on Carr Jetty....When opps...Bang...yep she rammed...well collided...well moored aggressively ....to the side of the said Sir Galahad.... Not perhaps a clanger, but maybe not the best behavior of an office and gentleman....So always be aware, fame can bite................and so can MOLES

We MOLES are not all that keen on water, so we try not to get to close....But having been hanging about in the docks this mole had watched with interest the development of BUOY being constructed at great cost.........This mole not being a sailor is pleased to see that it is now being tested off Hobbs Point......But is it meant to flash lights or send out a radio beam......Or as in this case POINT in the direction you need to go........Who said sign posts were a thing of the past......Happy tunneling........ Hopefully in a STRAIGHT line

Meteor-right or Wrong

Well what a turn up…a meteor shower seems to have rained on the Dock, the MOLE can report. Just take a stroll down to the back of the St. Govan’s Centre…and there they are all over the place….. Blooming great lumps of…well rock or maybe meteorites from space … But maybe they are part of the new landscaping…whoops no can’t be that you would need planning permission!! No it seem the nice person who owns the land has received outline planning permission for the site…..and needs it left clear… the bit he owns that is…not sure about the car park…unless they were good enough to tarmac, streetlight and white-line a bit for the now defunked Co-Op…(Asda or the County Council) I think not…no such thing as a free lunch…….The MOLE is not known to watch out for his human friends…but we did notice that some of the stones had been accidentally…. placed i.e. exactly on the line of the right of way from the Western Way crossing……Lets hope that there is movement on this piece of real-estate before the expiry of the 5 year period of the outline permissions granted so the nice little piece of land does not become a derelict eyesore in the centre of our Town. On a positive note…it’s a great site for us MOLES now…thank you

Panic in Pembroke Dock...Wild life scare

Being a very small MOLE the risk I took to get this story to you makes me a very brave MOLE......There was a twitter tearing round the dock about a great big bird causing undue panic amongst the sea gulls.......So off I burrowed to see what was what....And yes the cries of fear were justified.......Homing in on a flock of gulls in Front Street was this huge wild looking 4 legged "BUZZARD"...So birds beware, 'cos if this bird gets off the ground/sea we are all in trouble

One Can Short of a Paint Job

After my sad news in my last report I burrowed off to see what else was changing in our Town...... and yes I found a interesting Planning Notice (which should by law be placed where it can be read by the general population) at Albion School ...... well I know us MOLES are not renowned for having good eyesight.... But to see this one you would need a zoom lens...Secured to the old school notice board behind an iron spike and chained, locked fence....come on play fair at least let us read the notice even if when we comment nothing happens

The mole spends a lot of time moving unseen round the town....but one place I have not been able surface for at least a year is a small patch of double yellow lined Water Street, not more than 50 yards from the office of our constabulary. What has caused the moles problem? . Well its a small sand filled, flat tyred, unloved and illegally dumped, highway obstructing TRAILER. I see the fair tax paying public rightfully receiving tickets for parking illegally all around the town....but yes the little trailer seems to be invisible to the sharp eyes of the traffic department.........so should we all have little trailers...we could have little gardens outside our houses...that would be nice...for moles.....

Three Crowns Lock Debate

December 6th 2005 A Debate has broken out which could if not resolved cause undo hardship in the quite back water known as Law Street Pembroke Dock. It has been reported that the current landlord of the Three Crowns known locally as HIM or MUSH or ANY CHANCE OF A DRINK or GARY, has used his skills ..... to fit a new door handle to the bar.
